VIRUS SAFETY GUIDELINES
As we dive into the 2025 event season, your safety and event experience remain our top priorities.
The following guidelines outline our approach to virus safety at our events this year. We’ll continue working closely with local health authorities, following national guidance, and adjusting plans as needed.
OUR KEY SAFETY PRINCIPLES
- Capacity Management: Outdoor spaces are naturally low-risk environments, but we’re still managing capacity through pre-selected start times to ensure smooth flow and spacing throughout the day.
- Health Screening: COVID-19: There are currently no national restrictions in place. If you have symptoms or a confirmed case, we encourage you to stay home and recover. If guidance changes, we’ll keep you updated.
- Health Screening: Monkey Pox: In-line with the current UK Government guidance on Monkeypox for planning events and mass gatherings participants should not attend the event if they have the following:
- They have received a confirmed or highly probable diagnosis of monkeypox, and if they are currently isolating.
- Have symptoms compatible with monkeypox.
- Protective Equipment: Participants and Spectators are welcome to wear facial coverings across the event site should they wish.
- Reduced Contact: We will be remaining cashless across our event sites and will continue to offer self-service sanitisers in locations like portable toilets.

All Spartans need to do their bit to make events as safe as possible. While we’ve got a solid plan in place to protect you, here’s how you can do your part:
- Stay home if you feel unwell or have been in contact with someone who is unwell
- Keep up to date with all pre-event communications
- Practice good hygiene - hand washing, hand sanitising, sneezing, coughing, etc
- Arrive on time within your assigned start window
- Be kind to volunteers—they’re here to help!
- Respect the event site, local community, and each other
HEALTH SCREENING
All participants will be required to complete a short health declaration as part of the event waiver. You’ll confirm that:
- You’re not currently infected with, or showing symptoms of, COVID-19 or Monkeypox
- You’ve not knowingly been in contact with someone experiencing symptoms in the last 48 hours
CAPACITY management:
- Capacity will be limited to pre-set wave sizes. On-site registration will be permitted, but limited to wave times with available space.
- Start Times: participants must select a start time prior to the event day. Start times will be selected at the time of registration and participants may only transfer to other times based on available inventory.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- Face Coverings
- Attendees are welcome to wear a face-covering across the event site if they wish.
REDUCED CONTACT
- Hand Sanitiser: Sanitiser will be available for use throughout the event village.
- Cashless: Attendees will need to bring credit or debit cards instead of cash for food truck, beer and merchandise purchases at the event.
EVENT AMENITIES AND COURSE
- Food items and product samples may be individually packaged and self-service.
- Water-based obstacles are treated and tested prior to each event.
These guidelines are subject to review and updated in accordance with any government specified changes related to Virus’ and Infectious diseases.
