Obstacle attempts are required and encouraged for all racers. Spartans always try!
Obstacle completion is not required.
If a racer cannot complete an obstacle, they will complete burpees instead before continuing. The amount of burpees the racer must do is based on their age. For example, if the racer is five years old he/she will complete five burpees following a failed obstacle attempt.
If your racer is competing in the Two Mile Competitive Heat, they must attempt all obstacles. If they cannot complete an obstacle they must complete 15 burpees before continuing their race.
