Kid's 3km Competitive heat will be split into two groups:
9 to 11 years
12 to 14 years
Those in the competitive wave will have a chance to win a place on our podium and the top three will earn a special medal.
The 1st place winner of each competitive group will also receive a £20 onsite merchandise credit. Credit cannot be used online and only applies to the onsite event where the credit was earned.
Other Important Notes:
- Children age 9-14 may participate in any Kids Race distance
Note: Racers that are 14 years old on race day may race and podium. However, if racers qualify for the Kids World Championship, they must be 14 years old or younger on Kids World Championship race day, in order to take part. - Children must be at least 9 years old on the day of the race regardless of their birthdate to be able to register and run the 3km distance
- Results will be based on the child's age on 12/31 of that given year
- Plaques, Deltas or Medals will be presented to winners on race day during the Awards Ceremony.
- Award Ceremony times will be listed in the Race Day Program about a week before each race weekend.
- IF A RACER IS UNABLE TO STAY FOR THE AWARD CEREMONY then plaques, deltas or medals may be posted out for a shipping fee to be paid by the racer. The price of such a fee is currently £20 for deltas and plaques and £10 for medals plus processing.
- Racers have 60 days after their event to contact Customer Service and pay the shipping fee. Once this time frame has passed we cannot ship out podium items.
- Please allow up to 90 days for items to be shipped after the shipping fee has been paid.

- Order of starting position is determined by arrival time
- The top 3 males to cross will podium
- The top 3 females to cross will podium
- Age Groups will be broken into 9-11 and 12-14.
- All obstacles must be attempted
- No help from peers
- No outside assistance
- No circumventing obstacles
- Failure to complete or unwillingness to complete results in a penalty
- For any obstacle that has a penalty loop, the loop is required, where there isn't a penalty loop then a 15-burpee penalty is required
- For a burpee to be counted it must be executed as chest to ground and feet in the air
- Penalties are enforced in the competitive division only

- Spartan Staff have the authority to pull racers immediately from the course at their discretion
- Onsite guardians of individuals will be located and informed of the incident

- Non-completion of burpee penalty
- Cutting course intentionally
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Cheating
- Outside help or receiving help from peers
- Physical or Verbal altercations
In the event of a tie...
- First place tie
- 2 golds are awarded and the podium is shared
- 1 Bronze is awarded
- Silver is eliminated
- Second place tie
- 1 gold is awarded
- 2 silver are awarded and the podium is shared
- Bronze is eliminated
- Third place tie
- 1 gold is awarded
- 1 silver is awarded
- 2 bronze are awarded and the podium is shared
Dissemination of rules

- Rules and regulations will be sent in competitive confirmation emails
- Rules and regulations will be verbally reinforced prior to race
Disputes
- Placing disputes can be brought to the Staff’s attention after the heat has ended
- Spartan Staff will listen to all disputes, however, the outcome is at their discretion.
- Discourteous or abusive disputes will not be tolerated and could result in automatic disqualification of the racer and placement, and removal from the event.
